The programme offers an intense sailing trip of about 220 miles (around 35 miles per day). The first day we sail about 25 miles across the Gulf of Follonica and arrive on the coast of the island of Elba where we spend the night at anchor in one of the beautiful bays (to be chosen depending on the weather conditions). The next morning we continue the cruise and after 40 miles reach the port of Macinaggio in Corsica (alternatively we can spend this second night in one of the picturesque bays around Giraglia). The third day we round the Giraglia rock and sail along the west side of the Corsica’s “finger” as far as Saint Florent (25 miles) stopping along the way in the picturesque village of Centuri — one of the most beautiful villages in Corsica. On the fourth day we head back to the Tyrrhenian Sea and reach the island of Capraia, where we moor in port for the night. The fifth day we sail for about 25 miles to reach Portoferraio, Elba’s main harbour. The sixth and final day (the last 25 miles) returns us to Scarlino.
The cruise can also be shortened to five days combining the last two days into one passage (45 miles).
During stops you can use the dinghy to visit the bays, or simply enjoy the quiet environment, relaxing in the cockpit.
While sailing you can, if desired, be involved in the navigation and get sailing lessons.
